Mr. Smith at London Men’s Fashion Week, SS19
Earlier this month, the Mr. Smith International Creative Team headed to London Men’s Fashion Week, with Mr. Smith products featuring across multiple runway shows.
Featuring pastel-hued bleached denim, oversized shirts and plenty of stripes and checks, UK designer Lou Dalton’s countryside-inspired SS19 collection was decidedly utilitarian.
In response, Hair Lead Alexander Soltermann adopted individual looks for each model, using the Mr. Smith products to elevate the natural texture and movement of the models’ hair.
Elsewhere, John Lawrence Sullivan’s Spring collection paid homage to the early-1980s post-punk era, referencing Depeche Mode frontman Dave Gahan as an inspiration with PVC, leather, acid wash and midriff-baring tops all featuring.
Hair Lead Louis Ghewy described the look as “80s punks out in space.” For the models with spikes, Ghewy dried-in Mr. Smith Mousse and Texture Spray before finishing off the look with Mr. Smith Hairspray and a straightener.
Meanwhile, on the models with slicked back “alien” looks, Ghewy used a cutting comb to comb through Mr. Smith The Foundation , Mousse and Shaper, adding: “After setting this with a hairnet and a hairdryer we used Mr. Smith Hairspray just before they went on the runway to create lots of shine.”

With Paris Fashion Week coming up, there’s little sign of the Mr. Smith International Creative Team slowing down any time soon. To stay in the loop with all things international hair and fashion, be sure to follow us on Instagram and Facebook.
